Understanding the AccBooks AI dashboard
ByAccBooks Team · · 2min read
Overview
The AccBooks AI dashboard gives you a live snapshot of your business’s financial health without opening a single report. This article explains each panel and how to customise your view.
Bank balances
The top row shows the current balance for each connected bank account. Balances refresh every time AccBooks syncs your bank feed (every 4–6 hours), or you can click Refresh to force an immediate sync.
Click any balance tile to open the full transaction list for that account.
P&L summary
The P&L panel shows your revenue, cost of goods sold, gross profit, operating expenses and net profit for the current financial period. The figures come from your posted and reconciled transactions in real time.
Use the period selector in the top-right of the panel to switch between:
- Current month
- Quarter to date
- Year to date
- A custom date range
Cashflow forecast
The cashflow forecast projects your expected bank balance over the next 30, 60 or 90 days using:
- Outstanding invoices (your expected inflows)
- Recurring expenses (based on historical patterns)
- Upcoming payroll runs
Toggle between Optimistic (all invoices paid on time) and Conservative (based on your actual average payment days) scenarios.
Pending actions
The actions panel shows everything that needs your attention:
| Action type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Transactions to classify | Bank transactions waiting for a nominal code |
| Invoices overdue | Customer invoices past their due date |
| VAT return due | An upcoming or overdue VAT filing deadline |
| Documents to review | Uploaded documents the AI couldn’t classify automatically |
| Bank feed errors | Connections that need re-authorising |
Click any item to jump directly to the relevant screen.
AI activity feed
The right-hand panel shows a chronological log of what the AI has done automatically in the last 24 hours — transactions classified, matches proposed, documents processed. You can review and override any AI decision from this feed.
Recent transactions
A table of the 20 most recent transactions across all accounts, with their classification status (Classified, Unclassified, Flagged for review).
KPI tiles
Below the main panels are customisable KPI tiles. Default tiles include:
- Average debtor days
- Average creditor days
- Gross margin %
- Current ratio
You can add, remove and reorder tiles under Dashboard → Customise.
Customising your dashboard
Click the Customise button in the top-right corner to:
- Drag and drop panels to reorder them.
- Hide panels you don’t need.
- Add additional bank account tiles.
- Choose your default date range.
Each user can have their own custom dashboard layout — changes don’t affect other team members.
